Premier League: Liverpool vs Burnley preview
Liverpool are looking to get their Premier League title bid back on track, and for that they desperately need a win against Burnley at Anfield on Sunday. The Reds won the reverse fixture 3-1 in December, Jack Cork scored to put Burnley ahead after half-time but then James Milner, Roberto Firmino and Xherdan Shaqiri found the back of the net for Liverpool. That was the second consecutive win for the Reds against the Clarets, and the fourth in the last six direct matches. However, last season Burnley did manage to snatch a 1-1 draw at Anfield and they even defeated Liverpool 2-0 at Turf Moor in 2016. Liverpool have lost their place at the top of the table after last weekend's goalless draw in the Merseyside Derby, now they have to chase defending champions Manchester City who are just one point ahead. The situation might suit the Reds better, now the pressure is on the Citizens and Jurgen Klopp's men can return to their effective attacking football. Three of their last five matches in all competitions were goalless draws, including the match against Bayern Munich in the Champions League. Joe Gomez and Dejan Lovren remain sidelined, while Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has returned to training but lacks match fitness. Burnley can't relax yet, they are just five points above the relegation zone and every defeat drags them closer to the danger area. They have lost their last two Premier League matches, ending a streak of four matches without defeat. Last week the Clarets lost 3-1 at home against Crystal Palace, a very poor result considering that just a few weeks before they managed to grab a 2-2 draw against in-form Manchester United and then even defeated Tottenham 2-1. Aaron Lennon, Jonathan Walters and Steven Defour are still sidelined for the visitors. Probable line-ups: Liverpool: Alisson - Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Van Dijk, Robertson - Wijnaldum, Fabinho, Keita - Salah, Firmino, Mane Burnley: Heaton - Bardsley, Tarkowski, Mee, Taylor - Hendrick, Westwood, Cork, McNeil - Barnes, Wood My prediction: Liverpool to win 2-0, Burnley are tough customers but Liverpool should be determined enough to get all three points. Here are the odds for the match at Bet365: Liverpool win - 1.16 Draw - 8.50 Burnley win - 21.00
