The 201st edition of the North West Derby will take place on Sunday, when new Premier League leaders Liverpool host struggling Manchester United at Anfield. Last season Manchester United managed to grab a goalless draw at Anfield before securing a 2-1 victory over Liverpool at Old Trafford with two goals from Marcus Rashford. The two teams have met in a friendly match last summer, Liverpool won that game 4-1 but Man United were without many first-team players. Overall, Liverpool have won the derby 65 times, while Manchester United have collected 80 wins so far.
Liverpool are the only unbeaten team in the Premier League at the moment, they have won thirteen of their sixteen matches so far and recorded draws in the other three. Last weekend they collected their fifth consecutive Premier League victory, 4-0 at Bournemouth, and leapfrogged Manchester City at the top of the table. The Reds have conceded just one goal in those last five league matches, and they extended the good defensive record in the Champions League as well, they won 1-0 against Napoli this week to secure their passage to the next round. Joel Matip and Trent Alexander-Arnold got injured during that match, though, and both will be out for a few weeks. Nathaniel Clyne has returned to training this week but this match might come too soon for him.
Manchester United are unbeaten in their last four Premier League matches, but they only managed to win one of them. That victory came last weekend against Fulham, the Red Devils won 4-1 with goals from Ashley Young, Juan Mata, Marcus Rashford and Romelu Lukaku. That good result was followed by a 2-1 defeat at Valencia in the Champions League in midweek, but the Red Devils had qualification already secured and lack the motivation to push for a win. Marcus Rashford, Jesse Lingard and Ashley Young were all rested by manager Jose Mourinho and midweek and all three should return to the starting eleven on Sunday. Victor Lindelof, Alexis Sanchez and Marcos Rojo are injured and won't be in the squad for the derby.
Liverpool: Alisson - Milner, Lovren, Van Dijk, Robertson - Wijnaldum, Henderson, Keita - Salah, Firmino, Mane
Man United: De Gea - Young, Bailly, Jones, Shaw - Herrera, Fellaini, Matic - Lingard - Lukaku, Rashford
My prediction: Liverpool to win 2-0, the Reds are in great form and they should be able to defeat Man United.
Here are the odds for the match at Bet365:
Liverpool win - 1.53
Draw - 4.50
Man United win - 6.50

If I had to put money pre-game on the correct score in this one I would of stake it at a 3-0..and I would of been furious at Becker for allowing that charity goal which probably have been the only United shot in goal during the match..and thanks to a Liverpool keeper of course.
Won't comment how poor United in fact are cause it's too large of a theme but it looks like it once again time for a change for them, I could of say that a couple of years earlier and it still would be valid then.
