Defending Premier League champions Manchester City will be eager to get back to winning ways when they face Everton at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday. Last season the Toffees clinched a 1-1 draw in this fixture, Wayne Rooney scored to put them ahead in the first half and then Raheem Sterling leveled the score in the 82nd minute. The Citizens won the reverse match 3-1, with Leroy Sane, Gabriel Jesus and Raheem Sterling scoring in the first half. The last three direct matches in the Premier League at the Etihad Stadium ended with draws, and Manchester City have won just two of the last six meetings with Everton in all competitions.
Manchester City have lost their place at the top of the table following last weekend's 2-0 defeat at fourth-placed Chelsea, it was their first Premier League defeat of the season. That result relegated the Citizens into second place, one point behind new leaders Liverpool, while third-placed Tottenham are five points away. Pep Guardiola and his men bounced back to winning ways with a 2-1 victory over Hoffenheim in the Champions League this week, and they had to fight from 1-0 down to get it. Leroy Sane scored both goals in midweek, so he will probably get to keep his place in the starting eleven. John Stones picked up a knock in the Champions League and is expected to miss out, along with David Silva, Eliaquim Mangala, Benjamin Mendy and Kevin De Bruyne. Sergio Aguero could make his return after having missed the last four matches through injury.
Everton are in a bit of a slump, they have won just one of their last five matches and that victory was over struggling Cardiff City. They did start that streak with a creditable goalless draw at Chelsea, but they lost the Merseyside Derby at the beginning of the month and then got held to a 1-1 draw at home by Newcastle before drawing 2-2 against Watford on Monday. Morgan Schneiderlin is the only injury concern for manager Marco Silva. The Everton boss might start to play with a three-man defence now that he has Kurt Zouma, Yerry Mina and Michael Keane all fit and ready to fight.
Man City: Ederson - Walker, Kompany, Laporte, Delph - B. Silva, Fernandinho, Gundogan - Mahrez, Sterling, Sane
Everton: Pickford - Keane, Mina, Zouma - Coleman, Gueye, Gomes, Digne - Sigurdsson, Bernard - Richarlison
My prediction: Manchester City to win 3-1, the Citizens will be determined to bounce back after the defeat at Chelsea.
Here are the odds for the match at Bet365:

Great prediction Johnny, right on the spot mate.
The end result it's not at all surprising, Everton are not too convincing this season keep taking turns in their form producing great results and performances with a really poor ones.
So to be expected anything but a convincing City win in this one would of been some kind of a dreaming...and too far from the reality I think.
