Struggling Manchester United have a tough test ahead on Wednesday as they face a confident Arsenal at Old Trafford for some midweek Premier League action. Last season Manchester United won both league matches against Arsenal, 3-1 at the Emirates Stadium with two goals from Jesse Lingard and another one from Antonio Valencia, and 2-1 at Old Trafford with goals from Paul Pogba and Marouane Fellaini. Overall, the Red Devils have won three of the last six direct matches, while the Gunners have collected just two wins. The last nine matches had at least two goals scored in each of them.
Manchester United seem to have trouble getting a winning streak going, they only had two of them this season and both spanned across just three games in all competitions. Moreover, the Red Devils have not won a Premier League match since the start of November, and they played three since then. The first one was a clear 3-1 defeat against Manchester City in the derby, then they got held to a goalless draw at home by Crystal Palace, and last weekend they snatched a 2-2 draw at Southampton. Manager Jose Mourinho also has to deal with an injury crisis in defence, he was forced to play Nemanja Matic and Scott McTominay inthe back four at Southampton. There are no less than eight players in the squad listed as injury doubts ahead of this match. Ashley Young is suspended, while Alexis Sanchez and Victor Lindelof are injured.
Arsenal must be full of confidence after their performance in the North London derby on Sunday, they defeated Tottenham 4-2 and fought back from 2-1 down at half-time. The second-half performance from the Gunners was quite brilliant, and goals from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Alexandre Lacazette and Lucas Torreira turned things around. Torreira was the man of the match, he really bossed the midfield and wrapped things up with a nice goal. Manager Unai Emery will have some headaches before Wednesday's game, though, as Granit Xhaka is suspended and Shkodran Mustafi and Mesut Ozil are both injury doubts.
Man United: De Gea - Dalot, Smalling, Rojo, Darmian - Herrera, Matic, Fellaini - Lingard, Lukaku, Martial
Arsenal: Leno - Mustafi, Sokratis, Holding - Bellerin, Torreira, Guendouzi, Kolasinac - Ramsey, Aubameyang - Lacazette
My prediction: Arsenal to win 3-1, Manchester United have way too many injury problems in defence.
Here are the odds for the match at Bet365:

Arsenal win - 3.00
