Premier League: Newcastle United vs West Ham preview
Newcastle United are looking to extend their winning streak to four games when they host West Ham at St James' Park on Saturday. Last season the Magpies defeated West Ham 3-0 at home with goals from Joselu, Ciaran Clark and Aleksandar Mitrovic, and they also won the reverse fixture 3-2 after having fought back from 1-0 down. In fact, Newcastle have won the last three direct matches against West Ham, while the Hammers have only managed to win three of the last ten. Moreover, West Ham have not won an away match at Newcastle since 2012. Newcastle finally seem to have woken up, they started the season with ten matches without a win and now they have won their last three Premier League matches and have moved away from the relegation zone. The Magpies have won 1-0 at home against Watford, then 2-1 against Bournemouth also at St James' Park, and last week they won 2-1 at Burnley, moving up to 13th place in the Premier League table. Florian Lejeune and Karl Darlow remain the only injury concerns for manager Rafa Benitez, who will also have to assess the fitness of Paul Dummett, Jamaal Lascelles and Yoshinori Muto as they have only recently returned to full training. West Ham United are still looking for the best formula, they have a great manager and some quality players in the squad but so far the results have been below expectations. They have won just three of their thirteen Premier League matches so far this season and only one of six away from home, losing seven games overall and conceding 22 goals. Last week the Hammers got thrashed 4-0 at home by Manchester City, but before the international break they did secure a 1-1 draw at Huddersfield. Winston Reid, Manuel Lanzini, Carlos Sanchez, Andriy Yarmolenko and Ryan Fredericks are still out injured, while Marko Arnautovic and Jack Wilshere are doubts. Probable line-ups: Newcastle: Dubravka - Yedlin, Schar, Fernandez, Manquillo - Ritchie, Sung-Yueng, Diame, Kenedy - Perez - Rondon West Ham: Fabianski - Zabaleta, Balbuena, Diop, Cresswell - Diangana, Obiang, Rice, Noble, Anderson - Chicharito My prediction: Newcastle to win 2-1, the Magpies are on a roll and they won't stop easily. Here are the odds for the match at Bet365: Newcastle win - 2.37 Draw - 3.20 West Ham win - 3.00
