Back Serie A: Lazio vs AC Milan preview

Lazio will be desperate for a win against AC Milan in Serie A this weekend in order to boost their chances of clinching a Champions League spot. They have grabbed just one point out of their last two matches, against Roma and Napoli, sides which are directly competing with Lazio for a top-three place. A win against AC Milan on Saturday would put Lazio back on track, provided that either Roma or Napoli slip up.

Before the 1-0 defeat against Napoli last weekend Lazio had gone six games unbeaten. It's quite a different situation at AC Milan, who have failed to win any of their last four matches. Head coach Filippo Inzaghi says his players are feeling pressure after the home defeat at Sassuolo, the first match in that poor four-game streak.

However, AC Milan can still get things back on track as they are just five points behind Lazio, a win would put them firmly into the race for at least an Europa League spot. January signing Alessio Cerci will most likely feature in the starting line up for the second consecutive weekend. Lazio could see the return of striker Miroslav Klose, while new signings Wesley Hoedt and Mauricio dos Santos Nascimento might take place on the bench.

Probable line-ups:

Lazio: Berisha - Basta, Cana, Radu, Cavanda - Biglia, Ledesma, Parolo, Candreva - Klose, Keita Balde

AC Milan: Lopez - Mexes, Rami, Abate, Bonera - Montolivo, Bonaventura, De Jong - Menez, Cerci, El Shaarawy

My prediction: Lazio to win 2-1.

Here are the odds for the match at Bet365:

Lazio win - 17/20 Draw - 12/5 AC Milan win - 10/3
