Back LaLiga: Barcelona vs Sevilla

Defending LaLiga champions Barcelona are hoping to continue their recent revival this weekend, but they have a tough match ahead of them as sixth-placed Sevilla come to visit them at Camp Nou. Last season Barcelona won both LaLiga matches against Sevilla with the same score line, 4-2, but the two teams also met in the Spanish Cup and Sevilla managed to grab a 2-0 victory in the first leg. That didn't help them too much, though, as they got hammered 6-1 in the second leg. Barcelona have won their last ten home matches against Sevilla, who have not won a league match at Camp Nou since 2002.

Barcelona had a shaky start to the season, but now things seem to be back on track as they have recorded three consecutive wins in all competitions. Last week they won 2-1 at home against Villarreal and 2-0 at Getafe in LaLiga, while this week they did well to fight back from 1-0 down to beat Inter Milan 2-1 in the UEFA Champions League. Head coach Ernesto Valverde has to deal with a bit of an injury crisis on the left flank, both Jordi Alba and Junior Firpo are unavailable, so right-back Nelson Semedo might have to play in an unfamiliar position. Samuel Umtiti is also out injured, while fellow central defender Clement Lenglet is suspended.

Sevilla had a fine start to the season, unbeaten in their first four matches with three wins under their belt, but then lost twice in just four days against Real Madrid and Eibar and dropped towards the middle of the league table. They recovered with a 3-2 victory over Real Sociedad last weekend, while this week they snatched a 1-0 win over APOEL in the UEFA Europa League. Daniel Carrico is the only injury concern for the visitors ahead of this match.

Probable line-ups:

Barcelona: Ter Stegen - Roberto, Pique, Todibo, Semedo - F. De Jong, Busquets, Arthur - Messi, Suarez, Griezmann

Sevilla: Vaclik - Navas, Carlos, Kounde, Reguilon - Banega, Fernando, Jordan - Ocampos, L. De Jong, Nolito

My prediction:

This will most likely be a tough match for Barcelona and a close one as well, but I think the Blaugrana are capable of snatching a 2-1 win.
