UEFA Nations League: Spain vs England preview
Spain will be looking to extend their winning streak to four games in all competitions when they face England in the UEFA Nations League at Benito Villamarin Stadium in Seville today. The two teams have already met in this competition in September and back then Spain won 2-1 at Wembley as Saul and Rodrigo scored after Marcus Rashford had opened the scoring for England early in the game. Overal, Spain have won four of the last six matches against England, while the Three Lions have won just one of the last seven matches against La Roja. Spain seem to be enjoying life under new head coach Luis Enrique, they have won all their three matches after he took charge and are very close to sealing top spot in UEFA Nations League Group 4. They started the competition with the 2-1 victory at Wembley and a few days later produced an even more impressive performance as they thrashed World Cup runners-up Croatia 6-0. Last week they played a friendly match in Wales and pulled off another solid performance and a 4-1 victory. Paco Alcacer scored twice in Cardiff and is expected to lead the Spanish attack against England. England are still looking for their first competitive win after the World Cup, they played three matches after the final tournament and only managed to beat Switzerland in a friendly match. The UEFA Nations League campaign kicked off with the home defeat against Spain, while last week England were unable to produce more than a goalless stalemate in Croatia. If they get beaten by Spain again, England will have to beat Croatia if they want to avoid relegation to the second tier of the competition. Manager Gareth Southgate might make some changes for Monday's match, with youngsters James Maddison and Mason Mount hoping to make their international debuts. Probable line-ups: Spain: De Gea - Carvajal, Nacho, Ramos, Alonso - Niguez, Busquets, Alcantara - Asensio, Alcacer, Isco England: Pickford - Trippier, Gomez, Stones, Chilwell - Winks, Henderson, Maddison - Sterling, Kane, Rashford My prediction: Spain to win 3-1, England won't be able to cope with the attacking prowess of Luis Enrique's team. Here are the odds for the match at Bet365: Spain win - 1.66 Draw - 4.00 England win - 5.75
