Defending Serie A champions Juventus have their first major clash of the season as they host bitter rivals Napoli at Allianz Stadium in Turin on Saturday. Last season Napoli won this fixture 1-0 but they were unable to build upon that great result and eventually Juventus grabbed yet another Serie A title while Napoli finished second. The Bianconeri did win the reverse fixture in Naples last season, it also ended 1-0, but Napoli can be proud of having won two of the last three direct matches in all competitions. Overall, Juventus have won three of the last six matches against Napoli in all competitions.
Juventus had a perfect season so far, six wins out of six in the Serie A, plus a comfortable 2-0 Champions League victory at Valencia. They have scored more than two goals in just one match so far, though, the 3-2 victory at Chievo on the opening day of the season. Their last three matches all ended 2-0, including this week's easy home victory over Bologna. Mattia De Sciglio, Sami Khedira and Douglas Costa are all injured for the home side, but star striker Cristiano Ronaldo is fit and eager to score some more after having found the back of the net in two of the last three league matches.
Napoli didn't have the best of season starts under new manager Carlo Ancelotti, they have already dropped three points following the 3-0 defeat at Sampdoria and their Champions League campaign started with a goalless draw in Belgrade against Crvena Zvezda. However, they have won their last three Serie A matches and conceded just one goal in the process. This week Napoli eased to a 3-0 victory over Parma, with two goals from Polish striker Arkadiusz Milik. Raul Albiol and Jose Callejon were rested against Parma and should be back in the starting eleven on Saturday, while Vlad Chiriches and Amin Younes are injured.
Juventus: Szczesny - Cuadrado, Bonucci, Chiellini, Sandro - Pjanic, Can, Matuidi - Bernardeschi, Ronaldo, Mandzukic
Napoli: Ospina - Hysaj, Albiol, Koulibaly, Rui - Callejon, Allan, Ruiz, Zielinski - Insigne - Milik
My prediction: Juventus to win 2-1, it will be a fierce match and the Bianconeri seem to have more strength at the moment.
Here are the odds for the match at Bet365:
