UEFA Champions League: Liverpool vs Paris Saint-Germain preview
The biggest clash of the UEFA Champions League evening will take place at Anfield as Premier League leaders Liverpool take on French giants Paris Saint-Germain in Group C on Tuesday. The two teams have met just once before in an European competition, it was back in 1997 in the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup semi-finals and Paris Saint-Germain won 3-0 at home before losing 2-0 in Liverpool. Overall, Liverpool have won 16 of their 28 matches against French teams in European competitions, while Paris Saint-Germain have only won four times in seventeen matches against English teams. Liverpool are going full throttle this season, they have won five out of five so far in the Premier League and they are tied with Chelsea at the top of the table. Last weekend they secured a 2-1 victory at Tottenham, Georginio Wijnaldum and Roberto Firmino scored for Jurgen Klopp's side before Lamela bagged a consolation goal for the Spurs. Alex Oxlade-Chabmberlain remains a long-term absence for the Reds, but Adam Lallana and Dejan Lovren are getting closer to their returns to the pitch. Paris Saint-Germain had a perfect start to the season as well, six wins out of six matches in all competitions, starting with a commanding 4-0 victory over Monaco in the French Super Cup. Last week PSG defeated Saint-Etienne 4-0 in Ligue 1, with goals from Julian Draxler, Edinson Cavani, Angel Di Maria and Moussa Diaby. Neymar was rested by head coach Thomas Tuchel, while Kylian Mbappe missed the match through suspension. Daniel Alves and Layvin Kurzawa are injured and unavailable for Tuesday's match, while midfielder Marco Verratti and Gianluigi Buffon are suspended as they carry bans from last season. Probable line-ups: Liverpool: Alisson - Alexander-Arnold, Gomez, Van Dijk, Robertson - Wijnaldum, Henderson, Keita - Salah, Firmino, Mane PSG: Areola - Meunier, Silva, Kimpembe, Bernat - Rabiot, Marquinhos - Mbappe, Neymar, Di Maria - Cavani My prediction: 2-2 draw, I am sure we will see goals between these two spectacular sides. Here are the odds for the match at Bet365: Liverpool win - 2.30 Draw - 3.80 PSG win - 3.10
