Premier League: Arsenal vs Manchester City preview

Premier League title holders Manchester City start their campaign in London on Sunday, they will face a renewed Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium. The two teams have clashed three times and Manchester City won on all three occasions: 3-1 at home and 3-0 away in the Premier League and also 3-0 in the League Cup. Overall, Manchester City have won four of the last six matches against Arsenal in all competitions, while the Gunners have not tasted victory against the Citizens since 2015.

Arsenal start a new era on Sunday, their first Premier League match without Arsene Wenger on the bench after 22 years. New manager Unai Emery is set for his Premier League debut, along with a few of the new players that he has brought in this summer. Goalkeeper Bernd Leno and defender Sokratis Papasthatopoulos should both start, along with fellow summer signing Lucas Torreira. Sead Kolasinac and Laurent Koscielny have serious injuries and will be out for some time, while Aaron Ramsey and Nacho Monreal are fitness doubts.

Manchester City have brought in just one first-team player this summer: Riyad Mahrez from Leicester City. However, the Citizens already had an impressive squad and they even had to let go players like Yaya Toure and Joe Hart. Pep Guardiola and his men started the season with a comfortable 2-0 triumph over Chelsea in the Community Shield last weekend, with Sergio Aguero bagging both goals. Danilo and Eliaquim Mangala are both injured, while Kevin De Bruyne, Raheem Sterling and David Silva might need more time to reach full fitness.

Probable line-ups:

Arsenal: Leno - Bellerin, Mustafi, Sokratis, Maitland-Niles - Ramsey, Torreira - Mkhitaryan, Ozil, Aubameyang - Lacazette

Man City: Ederson - Walker, Stones, Laporte, Mendy - De Bruyne, Fernandinho, B. Silva - Mahrez, Aguero, Sane

My prediction: Manchester City are just too good for Arsenal at this time, I expect the Citizens to win 3-1.

Here are the odds for the match at Bet365:

Arsenal win - 4.00
Draw - 3.80
Man City win - 1.95
