Nwankwo Kanu: Arsenal need a "miracle" to win the title

Former Arsenal striker Nwankwo Kanu has recently turned 42 years old and has shared his views on the current Gunners team in an interview, saying that Unai Emery would need a "miracle" to win the Premier League title during his first season in charge. Kanu spent five years at the club and won two Premier League titles under former manager Arsene Wenger. Kanu was also a part of the Arsenal team that completed the 2003-2004 Premier League season without defeat. Since then the Gunners have never managed to win the Premier League title again and this summer they finally changed manager as Spaniard Unai Emery replaced Arsene Wenger at the helm.

"If it happens and they win the league, it's a miracle," Kanu said. "It takes time for the newcomers, the new signings, to adapt. We have to allow time for him to bring his own style and the way he wants to play. For the new manager, it's going to be a very big challenge; the fans want them to perform in the league in his first year, which is always difficult for a new coach. It's a very big club - coming into a big club you need a trophy, so if you don't win the league, you need to win the others. It's hard, but that's what you expect of a coach of that stature and a big club. He's been signing new, good players. They're more defensive, and not allowing goals, which is good. They have to know how to win games, even if it's 1-0. All they need is the three points."

Arsenal have signed five new players so far this summer: Uruguay international Lucas Torreira for 26 million pounds from Sampdoria, goalkeeper Bernd Leno from Bayer Leverkusen for 22 million pounds, right-back Stephan Lichtsteiner from Juventus on a free transfer, central defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos from Borussia Dortmund for 14 million pounds, and 19-year-old midfielder Matteo Guendouzi from Lorient for 7 million pounds. Meanwhile, long-serving players like Jack Wilshere and Santi Cazorla have left the Gunners as their contracts expired at the end of last season.

Arsenal are 20/1 at Bet365 to win the Premier League title next season.

Well, I just think Kanu is right.
In fact I think it would be a miracle if Arsenal wins the title not just this upcoming season but even in the next one.
To be honest I'm not a big fan of this manager and the French League has nothing to do with the English PL, the level of competition is just a hundred times stronger and you don't manage a team who prevails all the other teams financially as PSG in France.
Arsenal will face a couple of tough 2 or 3 seasons I reckon, they are just in ta ransition period right now.
