Serie A: Juventus trying to sign Emre Can

Defending Serie A champions Juventus are chasing Liverpool midfielder Emre Can but not for a transfer during the January window. The Bianconeri are looking to snatch the German midfielder on a free transfer next summer as he entered the last six months of his contract with Liverpool. The midfielder is now free to discuss terms and to sign a pre-contract agreement with a club outside of the Premier League but he might also decide to extend his stay at Liverpool by signing a new contract with the Reds.

"Emre Can is a player whose contract is running down, so it allows us to approach him for negotiations and that is the course we have taken," Juventus director general Giuseppe Marotta said. "I can't say if he could sign a new contract with Liverpool, but I can say we will try all we can to get the player. Obviously, we have to respect what the player wants." The midfielder has held talks with Liverpool about a new contract but the two parties failed to find an agreement on a buy-out clause as the Reds never included such a clause in their contracts.

Emre Can joined Liverpool from Bayer Leverkusen for 10 million pounds in 2014 and developed into a very important member of the squad, while also establishing himself as a regular in the German national team. "My agent is looking after everything but I am here until the summer. I haven't signed anything with Juventus or anyone," Can said regarding his future. "I am talking with everyone, of course I am talking with Liverpool. Why not? I still have a contract here. It is an amazing club. What can I say? My agent does the rest."

Juventus are currently 10/11 at William Hill to win the Serie A title once again this season.

So, whatever happens the player would benefit from that interest of the two clubs.
Nowadays agents and players dictates to clubs and no other way around as we use to think.
But anyway I believe the player would decide where he wants to play next season, but Can been huge for Liverpool so they should make efforts keeping him, and even a buy out clause maybe: )
