Premier League: Manchester City vs Tottenham preview

Manchester City are looking to extend their record-breaking Premier League winning streak when they host Tottenham at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday afternoon. Last season the Spurs secured a 2-2 draw at Manchester City after having won the reverse fixture 2-0. In fact, Tottenham have a great recent record against Manchester City, they have not lost any of the last four direct matches and won three of them. Manchester City have not defeated Tottenham at the Etihad Stadium since 2014, when they secured a 4-1 victory.

Manchester City are on a fifteen-game winning streak in the Premier League, they are really dominating the competition and at the moment it seems almost certain that they will win the title this season. However, a match against Tottenham is always difficult and manager Pep Guardiola has surely warned his players against complacency. In midweek the Citizens secured a comfortable 4-0 victory at Swansea. Benjamin Mendy, John Stones and Vincent Kompany remain the only injury concerns for the home side.

Tottenham recovered from a poor run of three matches without a victory with a three-game winning streak in all competitions. Last weekend they crushed Stoke City 5-1 and a few days later they recorded another home win, 2-0 over Brighton. They are currently fourth in the Premier League table, but they are tied on 31 points with both Liverpool and Burnley and just one point ahead of Arsenal. Davinson Sanchez is suspended for this match, while Toby Alderweireld and Victor Wanyama are still sidelined by injuries.

Probable line-ups:

Man City: Ederson - Walker, Mangala, Otamendi, Delph - De Bruyne, Fernandinho, D. Silva - Sterling, Aguero, Sane

Tottenham: Lloris - Trippier, Dier, Vertonghen, Davies - Winks, Dembele, Eriksen - Son Heung-Min, Alli - Kane

My prediction: Manchester City to win 2-1.

Here are the odds for the match at Bet365:

Man City win - 1.55
Draw - 4.59
Tottenham win - 6.00

In fact it was a good game despite that from the end result someone could think it was all City.
Spurs fought hard in the biggest part of the game but after 2-0 the should of take too many risk trying score and Man City used that in their favour scoring twice on couters.
Seems like it would be a tough season for Spurs and it's pretty likely for them to miss a top 4 spot this season, it's all great for City right now.
