Back Premier League: West Ham vs Chelsea preview

Chelsea continue their title chase with a short trip to London rivals West Ham United at Upton Park on Wednesday. The Blues have clinched their first trophy of the season last weekend as they recorded a 2-0 victory over Tottenham in the Capital One Cup final at Wembley. It was a special moment for Mourinho as it's the first piece of silverware he wins during his second spell in charge at Chelsea.

They have a good chance of doing the double as title rivals Manchester City were defeated 2-0 at Liverpool last weekend, leaving Chelsea five points clear at the top of the table with a game in hand. Mourinho will surely try to make some changes to his team considering that next week they will have a crucial Champions League clash against Paris Saint-Germain.

West Ham have not been particularly impressive lately, they are without a win in their last six competitive games and lost 3-1 to Crystal Palace last weekend. The Hammers have dropped to ninth spot in the league table, so if they want to maintain any sort of European hopes they will have to start winning fast. The reverse fixture was won by Chelsea 2-0 in December.

Probable line-ups:

West Ham: Adrian - Jenkinson, Reid, Tomkins, Cresswell - Song, Noble, Kouyate, Downing - Nolan, Valencia

Chelsea: Courtois - Ivanovic, Terry, Cahill, Azpilicueta - Zouma, Fabregas, Oscar - Hazard, Cuadrado, Costa

My prediction: Chelsea to win 1-0.

Here are the odds for the match at Bet365:

West Ham win - 21/4 Draw - 3/1 Chelsea win - 8/13
