Neymar wants Barcelona out of the Champions League
Brazilian star Neymar seems to have a serious grudge with his former club as he has demanded UEFA, the European football governing body, to expel Barcelona from this season's Champions League. Representatives of the 25-year-old Brazilian have made an official request to UEFA, claiming that Barcelona don't want to pay Neymar a loyalty bonus that they owed him. Neymar moved from Barcelona to Paris Saint-Germain this summer as the French giants paid his release clause worth 222 million euros. Despite having switched clubs, Neymar says Barcelona owe him a loyalty bonus worth 23 million pounds. Barcelona have refused to pay the bonus and have requested Neymar to pay them back around 7.6 million pounds that he received as a contract renewal bonus in 2016. Back then Neymar had signed a new five-year contract with Barcelona and seemed set to stay at Camp Nou until 2022. UEFA have not yet responded to the letter that they have received from Neymar's representatives. However, UEFA have announced at the start of September that they had opened an investigation into Paris Saint-Germain's spending during the summer transfer window in order to establish whether or not the French club had complied with Financial Fair Play regulations. Paris Saint-Germain have also signed French rising star Kylian Mbappe this summer from Monaco, they chose to get him on a season-long loan with an option to buy for no less than 166 million pounds next summer. Barcelona are 6/1 at Bet365 to win the Champions League this season, while PSG are 9/2 to win the trophy.
