Premier League: Manchester United vs Crystal Palace preview

Struggling Crystal Palace face a nearly impossible task as they travel to Old Trafford to face in-form Manchester United on Saturday. Last season the Red Devils won both direct meetings in the Premier League, 2-1 away and 2-0 at home. The two teams have met in the 2016 FA Cup final and Manchester United won the match 2-1 after extra time. Crystal Palace have not won a league match against Manchester United since 1991, the Red Devils have won eight of the last ten league meetings.

Manchester United are still unbeaten in the Premier League this season, they have not lost a match in any competition since the defeat against Real Madrid in the European Super Cup at the start of the campaign. That's nine matches unbeaten in all competitions with eight wins and just the 2-2 draw at Stoke City to spoil the record. Last weekend they won 1-0 at Southampton in the Premier League, while this week they eased to a 4-1 victory at CSKA Moscow in the Champions League. Marouane Fellaini and Michael Carrick are injured and won't be available before the international break, while Paul Pogba, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Marcos Rojo are also sidelined.

Crystal Palace are the weakest team in the Premier League so far, they have lost all six matches and already changed their manager. Roy Hodgson replaced Frank de Boer but the experienced English manager was unable to turn things around, the Eagles have not scored a single goal in six Premier league matches. Last weekend they got hammered 5-0 at Manchester City. Christian Benteke, Connor Wickham and Wilfred Zaha are all injured, leaving Hodgson with just a few options in attack. Timothy Fosu-Mensah is on loan from Manchester United and is not allowed to play against his parent club.

Probable line-ups:

Man United: De Gea - Valencia, Bailly, Smalling, Young - Matic, Herrera - Mata, Mkhitaryan, Rashford - Lukaku

Crystal Palace: Hennessey - Ward, Dann, Sakho, Van Aanholt - Milivojevic, Cabaye - Townsend, Loftus-Cheek, Schlupp - Sako

My prediction: Manchester United to win 2-0.

Here are the odds for the match at Bet365:

Man United win - 1.17
Draw - 7.00
Crystal Palace win - 15.00

Not a surprising result in this one really.

That was the first United game I have the time to watch this season and it not in the full too but still it wasn't surprising at all when we see where Palace is in the table.
United looking great with a possible title challenge this season, while Palace should be devastated looking doomed to failure right now.
