Premier League: Manchester City vs Liverpool preview
Liverpool are top of the Premier League table at Christmas but their big test comes on Boxing Day as they face a strong home outfit who have found the back of the net 13 times in the last three games on December 26th. Third-placed Manchester City have scored an amazing 51 goals in their 17 league fixtures this season, nine more than the Reds. Manuel Pellegrini's men have been outstanding at the Etihad Stadium, scoring 35 while conceding just five in their eight consecutive wins on home turf this season. Last home match saw Manchester City beat Arsenal 6-3 at the Etihad. Then City produced another high-scoring match and a 4-2 victory at Fulham last Saturday. Liverpool are also scoring plenty and they should bag a few against City as well since the Citizens have conceded nine goals in their last four league matches. Liverpool are on a four-match streak, scoring 17 goals in the process. Luis Suarez has driven the Reds forward, notching 10 goals in the last four games to take his Premier League tally to 19 in just 12 appearances this season. Sergio Aguero, Manchester City's top scorer with 13 goals, is sidelined with a calf problem. Pablo Zabaleta could also be missing after suffering a hamstring injury in their Capital One Cup win over Leicester City, while Micah Richards (hamstring), Matija Nastasic (calf) and Stevan Jovetic (knock) are also doubtful. Liverpool's Daniel Sturridge and Steven Gerrard will miss Thursday's clash with ankle and hamstring injuries respectively while defenders Jose Enrique and Sebastian Coates (both knee) remain long-term absentees for the Reds. Here are the odds for the big match at Bet365: Manchester City win - 3/4 Draw - 16/5 Liverpool win - 18/5
