Premier League: Leicester City vs Chelsea preview

The last two Premier League champions clash at the King Power Stadium on Saturday as Leicester City hold title holders Chelsea. Last season Chelsea won both league matches against the Foxes, 3-0 at home in October and 3-0 away in March, and they also recorded a 4-2 extra-time victory over Leicester in the League Cup. Leicester won just one of their last thirteen matches in all competitions against Chelsea, and that victory was recorded during their title-winning season with Claudio Ranieri in charge.

Leicester can be content with their start to the season, considering the opponents that they had to face in the first three Premier League weekends. They started with a spectacular 4-3 defeat at Arsenal, then beat newly-promoted Brighton 2-0 at home and then lost 2-0 at leaders Manchester United before the international break. They have suffered a setback on transfer-deadline day as they sold Danny Drinkwater to Chelsea and tried to replace him with Sporting Lisbon midfielder Adrien Silva, but the deal fell through due to some paperwork complications. Vicente Iborra and Robert Huth are injury doubts for Saturday's game.

Chelsea had a terrible start to the campaign, they lost the Community Shield on penalties to Arsenal and kicked off the Premier League season with a stunning 3-2 defeat at Stamford Bridge against Burnley. They recovered with a solid 2-1 victory at White Hart Lane against Tottenham and then beat Everton 2-0 to make things calmer ahead of the international break. Gary Cahill will miss through suspension, while former Leicester midfielder Danny Drinkwater will probably have to settle for a place on the bench.

Probable line-ups:

Leicester: Schmeichel - Simpson, Morgan, Maguire, Fuchs - Mahrez, Ndidi, James, Albrighton - Okazaki - Vardy

Chelsea: Courtois - Azpilicueta, Luiz, Rudiger - Moses, Bakayoko, Kante, Alonso - Willian, Fabregas - Morata

My prediction: Chelsea to win 2-1.

Here are the odds for the match at Bet365:

Leicester win - 4.50
Draw - 3.75
Chelsea win - 1.73
