Arsenal have turned down an offer from Manchester City for Chilean forward Alexis Sanchez. The bid was worth 50 million pounds, but it is believed that Arsenal turned it down because they would like to get Raheem Sterling from Manchester City in exchange. Sanchez has previously admitted that he would like to play for manager Pep Guardiola and also said that he wants to play in the Champions League, a competition that is off-limits for Arsenal this season. Sanchez has not extended his contract at Arsenal and he could leave on a free transfer when the deal runs out at the end of the season.
Alexis Sanchez, aged 28, has scored 24 league goals for Arsenal last season but he has only started one game this campaign after being on a longer holiday due to his participation at the Confederations Cup earlier this summer. He would face tough competition for a first team place at Manchester City after they have brought in Bernardo Silva from AS Monaco this summer. Arsene Wenger insisted all summer that Sanchez would not move to another club and would see out his contract at the Emirates Stadium.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is another player that Arsenal could lose on a free transfer next summer as his contract expires. The Gunners accepted an offer from Chelsea worth 40 million pounds for Oxlade-Chamberlain, but the deal fell through eventually after the player turned down the move. The 24-year-old versatile midfielder is also on Liverpool's radar, but the Reds have not made an official bid yet. It is believed that Oxlade-Chamberlain wants to play in a central midfield role after being employed as a wing-back by Arsene Wenger lately.
Arsenal are 25/1 at Bet365 to win the Premier League title this season after having lost two of their three league games so far.

Manchester City just tried to steal Sanchez from Arsenal in the last moments of the deadline knowing his intention to leave.
I don't see any point for Arsesnal selling him right now to a fellow rivals too.
Sanchez just have to bow down his head now and start working for the club that pays his salary.
