Cycling: Chris Froome to ride in Tour of Spain
Four-time Tour de France winner Chris Froome has confirmed that he will take part in the last Grand Tour of the season, the Vuelta a Espana. Froome, aged 32, has just won his latest Tour de France crown on Sunday in Paris and now he will try a historic double. In fact, no rider has ever won the Tour and Vuelta in the same year since the Tour of Spain moved from April to August and then September in 1995. "I've got the opportunity and I'm certainly going to go for it," Froome said. "The Vuelta is a race I love - it's vicious but it's three weeks that I enjoy. I've come second three times now and I'd love to win. To win both the Tour and the Vuelta in one year would be absolutely incredible." Froome has come close to winning the Vuelta before, but he finished second no less than three times. The 2017 Vuelta kicks off on 19 August in the French city of Nimes and finishes after three on 10 September in Madrid. Romain Bardet, Fabio Aru, and Alberto Contador, which Froome all defeated in the Tour de France, are expected to take part in the Vuelta as well, while former Tour de France winner Vincenzo Nibali should also take part after skipping the Tour de France. Here are the odds at Bet365 for the top five Vuelta favourites: Chris Froome - 20/29 Vincenzo Nibali - 7/2 Alberto Contador - 6/1 Ilnur Zakarin - 21/2 Miguel Angel Lopez - 11/1
