Serie A: Juventus sign Federico Bernardeschi
Serie A champions Juventus have completed a signing that surely pleases their fans as winger Federico Bernardeschi joins the Bianconeri from rival club Fiorentina. The transfer fee is reported to be around 35 million pounds and the player has signed a five-year contract with Juventus. Bernardeschi had played at Fiorentina during his entire professional career and scored an impressive 11 league goals last season. The 23-year-old winger has nine senior Italy caps and produced impressive performances during this summer's European Under-21 Championship. Juventus described him as one of Europe's "most promising attacking talents". "I am very touched," Bernardeschi said after arriving in Turin. "I want to thank everybody because as soon as I arrived I was welcomed by so many fans. They have really made me feel their support and I am grateful for that." Juventus have made a few other big-name signings this summer as they recruited goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny from Arsenal, right-back Mattia De Sciglio from AC Milan, winger Juan Cuadrado from Chelsea, defenders Medhi Benatia and forward Douglas Costa from Bayern Munich and young talent Rodrigo Bentancur from Boca Juniors. However, they did lose Dani Alves on a free transfer and sold central defender Leonardo Bonucci to AC Milan. Juventus are 4/6 at Bet365 to win the Serie A title again next season.
