Back Premier League: West Ham to sign Javier Hernandez

West Ham United have reached an agreement with Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen for the transfer of Mexican striker Javier Hernandez. The two clubs have agreed a transfer fee of 16 million pounds and now Hernandez has to agree personal terms with the Hammers. The 29-year-old striker has played in the Premier League before as he was part of the Manchester United squad for five years before being sold to Bayer Leverkusen.

Hernandez became Mexico's leading all-time scorer earlier this year after scoring his 47th international goal. He scored 59 goals in 156 appearances for Manchester United after arriving at the club in 2010. He was sold to Leverkusen for £7.3m in August 2015, after a loan spell at Real Madrid. He went on to score 39 goals in 76 matches for Bayer Leverkusen.

West Ham United have signed goalkeeper Joe Hart on a season-long loan deal earlier this week and they are also very close to finalising the transfer of Austria forward Marko Arnautovic from Stoke City. It seems that the Potters have agreed to sell Arnautovic for 24 million pounds as the deal is set to go through before the end of the week. Arnautovic scored seven goals in 35 games in all competitions last season.

West Ham United are 12/1 at Bet365 to finish inside the Premier League top six next season.
