Premier League: West Ham United interested in Joe Hart
West Ham United are looking to negotiate a deal with Manchester City for out-of-favor goalkeeper Joe Hart. The England goalie is surplus to requirements at the Etihad Stadium as manager Pep Guardiola made it clear that Hart is not good enough as a sweeper keeper to fit into his tactical set-up. Last season Joe Hart was sent out on loan to Serie A club Torino as Manchester City signed Claudio Bravo to replace him between the sticks. Moreover, this summer Manchester City spent 35 million pounds to sign Benfica goalkeeper Ederson Moraes. It is believed that West Ham United would prefer to sign Joe Hart on a season-long loan deal with an option to buy next summer, but Manchester City are more interested in concluding a permanent deal right away. Manchester United were also believed to be interested in signing Joe Hart as manager Jose Mourinho admires the 30-year-old goalkeeper, but since David De Gea seems set to remain at Old Trafford there would be little sense in bringing in another goalkeeper in the squad. West Ham United have also been looking for a new striker all summer, but so far their efforts have not produced any results. Their only signing of the summer is the free transfer of former Manchester City defender Pablo Zabaleta. They have made an offer for Stoke City's Marko Arnautovic but the Potters turned down the bid. West Ham manager Slaven Bilic is also rumoured to be interested in former Manchester United forward Chicharito Hernandez as well as Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud. West Ham United are 9/1 at Bet365 to finish inside the Premier League top six next season.
