Premier League: Leicester City sign Vicente Iborra
Leicester City have completed the signing of Spanish midfielder Vicente Iborra, the former club captain at LaLiga outfit Sevilla. The two clubs have not disclosed the transfer fee, but it is believed to be in the region of 10.5 million pounds. Iborra, aged 29, has joined Sevilla in 2013 and has helped the club win three consecutive Europa League trophies and finish fourth in LaLiga last season. The Spanish midfielder has signed a four-year contract with Leicester City after Sevilla have confirmed the deal had gone through. Leicester City have seen Iborra in action during last season's Champions League, the Foxes met Sevilla in the last sixteen and the midfielder played in both legs of the tie. Iborra has scored 30 goals in 172 appearances for Sevilla since joining them from Levante. Sevilla have allowed him to leave after having secured the signature of Inter Milan midfielder Ever Banega. Leicester City have already signed defender Harry Maguire from Hull City for 17 million pounds and youngster Sam Hughes from Chester. "I'm starting to hit a certain age, trains pass and it was the moment to take it," Iborra said in a statement for Sevilla's website. "Destiny is fickle, but it's a project that I find very attractive." The Spanish club have also released a flattering statement about their former captain: "Iborra has shown exemplary behaviour in his time at the club and has won the unanimous respect and love of all Sevilla fans. His achievements with the club are colossal but he will also be remembered for his leadership on and off the pitch, and for the dignity with which he wore the captain's armband." Leicester City are 6/1 at Bet365 to finish inside the Premier League top six next season.
