Serie A: AC Milan to sign Andre Silva
Italian side AC Milan continue to be very active on the transfer market after being taken over by Chinese investors and they have secured the services of young Portuguese international Andre Silva. The 21-year-old FC Porto striker scored 21 goals in all competitions last season, including four goals in the Champions League. The youngster has undergone a medical test at AC Milan's training base. The deal is worth around 38 million euros, less than Silva's minimum fee release clause but it seems FC Porto have accepted because they are in some financial trouble as they were recently fined by UEFA for failing to comply with the rules of Financial Fair Play. AC Milan have already signed defender Mateo Musacchio, left-back Ricardo Rodriguez and midfielder Franck Kessie this summer. Portugal star Cristiano Ronaldo had words of praise for the young striker: "When I retire, Portugal will be in good hands because they have already found a great striker: Andre Silva." The youngster replied: "I have a lot of work to do before I can express certain thoughts. No [I have not spoken to Ronaldo about the move]. I want to work hard to get closer to the words he has afforded me." AC Milan are 10/1 at Bet365 to win the Serie A title next season.
