Pemier League: Jordan Pickford to join Everton
Everton have reached an agreement with Sunderland for goalkeeper Jordan Pickford, the youngster will move to Goodison Park in a deal worth 30 million pounds. The young goalie is currently away on international duty with the England Under-21 squad and is expected to complete a medical test and the other formalities when he returns. The 23-year-old would become the most expensive British goalkeeper ever. Pickford made 29 Premier League appearances last season but his good performances could not prevent Sunderland from getting relegated. He is a product of the Sunderland youth academy, which he had joined in 2010. He was sent on loan at Darlington, Alfreton Town, Burton Albion, Carlisle United, Bradford City and Preston before making his first-team debut at Sunderland in an FA Cup match in January 2016. If the deal goes through Pickford would become the third most expensive goalkeeper in history behind Gianluigi Buffon from Juventus and Ederson, who recently moved to Manchester United. Buffon's move from Parma to Juventus was worth 53 million euros back in 2001, while Ederson's transfer from Benfica to Manchester City last week was worth 40 million euros. Everton are 11/4 at Bet365 to finish inside the Premier League top six next season.
