Premier League: Manchester United interested in Michael Keane
Manchester United are looking to buy central defender Michael Keane from Burnley, a player that they sold to the Clarets for just 2 million pounds in 2015. Keane is now valued at 25 million pounds, but Manchester United can take advantage of a 25% sell-on clause that was agreed in the deal that saw the young defender move to Burnley. He has made great progress lately, earned his first England cap in March and was also placed on the shortlist for the Professional Footballers' Association young player of the year award. If Manchester United will get this deal done, it would be the second buy-back of a player that they had previously sold after they paid a world-record transfer fee to bring back Paul Pogba from Juventus last summer. Michael Keane and Paul Pogba have played together in Manchester United's youth team and have won the FA Youth Cup back in 2011. However, Michael Keane only made five appearances for the senior Manchester United team before being sold to Burnley by former manager Louis van Gaal. He also played on loan at Leicester, Derby and Blackburn. Michael Keane would be just one of the players that Jose Mourinho will bring at Old Trafford this summer as the Portuguese manager is determined to strengthen his squad ahead of the new season. The Red Devils don't have any chances to qualify for the Champions League through their Premier League placement as they can't finish higher than sixth, but they can still have access to Europe's top club competition if they win the Europa League final against Ajax Amsterdam on May 24. Manchester United are 10/3 at Bet365 to win the Premier League title next season.
