Back UEFA Champions League: Real Madrid vs Bayern Munich preview

Bayern Munich will have a tough test in their UEFA Champions League title defence, Wednesday's semi-final first leg at Real Madrid. The German champions are aiming to become the first club to successfully defend a Champions League trophy since AC Milan achieved the feat in 1990. Bayern have already secured the Bundesliga title last month, so their focus for the remainder of the season is solely on the Champions League.

Real Madrid will hope to have Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale fit to play. The Blancos didn't play last weekend in the Primera Liga while Bayern recorded a domestic win, 2-0 against Eintracht Braunschweig. Although the title was secured captain Philipp Lahm felt that last weekend's win, which came after two consecutive Bundesliga defeats, was very important ahead of their big clash in Madrid.

"We did very well, especially in the second half. It's important we set off for home feeling good, and that's exactly what we're doing," Lahm said. "Against Real it will be sensational. I'm really looking forward to it. We'll see two massive games. On Wednesday we'll show we're always up for it in the important games. But it's still 50-50." The two sides have met five times in the semi-finals of the competition, with Bayern winning four of those ties (in 1976, 1987, 2001 and 2012) while Real's only success came in 2000.

Here are the odds for the match at Bet365:

Real Madrid win - 7/5 Draw - 13/5 Bayern win - 2/1
