UEFA Champions League: Bayern Munich vs Real Madrid preview
Real Madrid visit Champions League holders Bayern Munich on Tuesday with good confidence after securing a 1-0 first-leg success last week. The Spanish giants have won the competition nine times, more than any team in Europe, but they have been knocked out in the semi finals in each of the last three seasons, twice against German opponents. Karim Bennzema scored the only goal in the first leg, a goal that gives Real a slight advantage but certainly not a guarantee that they will reach the final. Bayern have lost just four games at home since the start of the season, two in the Champions League against Manchester City and Arsenal. But Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti is confident ahead of the second leg. "I have every confidence in the players and I think everyone should do," Ancelotti said. "The plan in Munich is to score, rather than defend." Real's usual attacking trio of Benzema, Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale will feature in Munich while Alvaro Arbeloa, Jese Rodriguez and Sami Khedira (all knee) are the only absentees for the Madrid team. Holger Badstuber (knee), Xherdan Shaqiri (thigh) and Tom Starke (elbow) remain sidelined for Bayern but midfielder Thiago Alcantara has returned to training. Bayern coach Pep Guardiola is equally confident: "I have total faith in my team. We can do it if we all pull together." Here are the odds for the match at Bet365: Bayern win - 8/11 Draw - 10/3 Real win - 15/4
