International Friendly: France vs Spain preview
France and Spain will both try to extend their unbeaten records when they clash in an international friendly at Stade de France on Tuesday. France have won the last direct meeting, another friendly, 1-0 at home in 2014, but Spain have enjoyed a better record in official competitions lately, with two wins and a draw in the last five years. Before the 2014 victory, France had not beaten Spain since the 2006 World Cup. France are undefeated since their Euro 2016 final that they lost against Portugal in extra time. They recorded five wins and two draws since then and are leading their World Cup qualification group. Last week they secured a 3-1 victory in Luxembourg, preserving their three-point advantage over Sweden at the top of the group table. Head coach Didier Deschamps will have to do without Djibril Sidibe and Adil Rami, but he will probably try to limit the experiments in his first eleven in order to win the match. After their terrible campaign at Euro 2016, Spain seem to have recovered as they recorded five wins and two draws since then. They are leading their World Cup qualification group, even though they are tied with Italy for the top spot. Last week they cruised to a 4-1 home victory over Israel, with David Silva, Diego Costa, Vitolo and Isco on the score sheet. Head coach Julen Lopetegui will probably make a few changes in the starting eleven, with Pedro and Alvaro Morata most likely replacing David Silva and Diego Costa. Probable line-ups: France: Lloris - Jallet, Koscielny, Umtiti, Kurzawa - Kante, Matuidi - Dembele, Griezmann, Payet - Giroud Spain: De Gea - Carvajal, Ramos, Pique, Alba - Iniesta, Busquets, Alcantara - Pedro, Morata, Vitolo My prediction: 2-2 draw. Here are the odds for the match at Bet365: France win - 2.40 Draw - 3.10 Spain win - 3.10
