Premier League: Wayne Rooney in talks with Chinese clubs
Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney seems to be looking for a way out as manager Jose Mourinho gives him less and less time on the pitch. Paul Stretford, Wayne Rooney's agent, is currently in China where he is discussing possible moves with Super League clubs. The Chinese transfer window closes on February 28, so a transfer would still be possible until then, even though the European transfer window has already closed at the end of January. Wayne Rooney is still under contract with Manchester United and the deal still has 18 months until expiry. Guangzhou Evergrande, Beijing Guoan, Jiangsu Suning and Tianjin Quanjian are the clubs that are reportedly interested in signing the England striker. Tianjin manager Fabio Cannavaro confirmed that his club have made an approach to sign Rooney, but no official bid has been launched yet. Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho said that he would not force Wayne Rooney out of the club but added that he can not offer any guarantees regarding his future at Old Trafford. Wayne Rooney is Manchester United's all-time top goalscorer but has only started three matches in the last two months. He picked up a muscle injury at the beginning of February but has a chance of being fit before Sunday's League Cup final with Southampton at Wembley. Rooney is England's all-time record goalscorer and second most-capped player, with 53 goals in 118 international appearances. The 31-year-old forward is 4/6 at BetVictor to join a Chinese club after leaving Manchester United, while a return to boyhood club Everton is priced at 6/1.
