Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund have confirmed the transfer of 17-year-old Swedish striker Alexander Isak from AIK Solna. The young forward has been compared to superstar Zlatan Ibrahimovic in Sweden and has also attracted interest from Spanish giants Real Madrid. The transfer fee is reportedly around 10 million euros. Isak has joined AIK Solna when he was just six years old, he was born in Solna but his parents moved to Sweden from Eritrea. He made his debut in the senior team at the age of 16 and also scored a goal in that match.
AIK player shared a picture of Isak signing the contract with Dortmund on his Instagram account, saying: "True quality is recognised very early. Dortmund have incredible young players. Glad we had the chance to play together, and go become the top player we all believe you will be." Isak scored 10 goals in 24 league matches for AIK Solna this season as they finished second in the Swedish top-flight. He already has two senior caps for the Swedish national team after having represented the nation at Under-17, Under-19 and Under-21 level.
He is Sweden's youngest ever goalscorer as he bagged a goal in the 6-0 victory over Slovakia on January 12. Borussia Dortmund head coach Tomas Tuchel is well-known for his appetite for promoting very young players in the first team as youngsters like Christian Pulisic, Ousmane Dembele and Julian Weigl have already become regular names in his first eleven. Dortmund are currently fourth in the Bundesliga, 12 points behind leaders Bayern Munich. Their top goalscorer, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, is wanted by most of Europe's top clubs and he is 4/1 at Paddy Power to join Real Madrid by the end of the January transfer window.
