Premier League: Tottenham vs Chelsea preview

Major London derby on Wednesday in the Premier League as Tottenham host leaders Chelsea at White Hart Lane. The Spurs had a good start in the reverse fixture as Christian Eriksen opened the scoring, but goals from Pedro and Victor Moses turned things around for Chelsea. However, the Blues have not won at White Hart Lane since 2012, it ended 4-2 back then with a double from Juan Mata. Overall, Chelsea won four of the last seven competitive matches against Tottenham, while the Spurs clinched just one win.

Tottenham have put together a four-game winning streak which has placed them right on the doorstep of the top four, if they manage to overcome Chelsea they might just get there. Their last two wins were quite impressive, both away from home and both with the same scoreline, 4-1 both at Southampton and Watford. Harry Kane and Dele Alli have scored in both those matches and they seem in top form before the derby. Kyle Walker and Jan Vertonghen return from suspension, while Erik Lamela remains the only injury concern for manager Mauricio Pochettino.

Chelsea are making history at the moment, they have matched Arsenal's record 13-game winning streak in the Premier League and now they are just one step away from breaking that record. They conceded just one goal in their last six away matches and that goal wasn't even scored by the opponents, it was an own-goal from Gary Cahill against Manchester City. John Terry is still unavailable through injury, but Marcos Alonso should be able to shake off a knock that he has picked up last weekend.

Probable line-ups:

Tottenham: Lloris - Walker, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Rose - Wanyama, Dembele - Sissoko, Alli, Eriksen - Kane

Chelsea: Courtois - Azpilicueta, Luiz, Cahill - Moses, Matic, Kante, Alonso - Pedro, Costa, Hazard

My prediction: 1-1 draw.

Here are the odds for the match at Bet365:

Tottenham win - 2.75
Draw - 3.30
Chelsea win - 2.80

That was one great performance by the Spurs and it looked at least by that time that it would make the title race interesting again.
Spurs has all the arguments to be a title contender I think, they have one of the finest squads out there so it's not strange that they outplayed and defeated Chelsea and Man City this season.
Except for that game Chelsea are still very convenient so they are still the biggest contenders I think.
