Manchester City and Pep Guardiola will be looking for revenge on Tuesday evening when they host Barcelona at the Etihad Stadium in the Champions League. Two weeks ago Barcelona hammered the Citizens 4-0, with some help from goalkeeper Claudio Bravo who got sent off early in the second half. That was the fifth win for Barcelona out of five direct matches against Manchester City, the English side is still looking for their first win against the Blaugrana.
That 4-0 defeat at Barcelona was just a part of a bleak run from Manchester City, six matches without a win in all competitions and three games lost in the process. That poor streak came to an end last weekend as the Citizens stormed past West Brom, it ended 4-0 at the Hawthorns with two goals from Sergio Aguero and another two from Ilkay Gundogan. Sergio Aguero was on the bench at Camp Nou, this time Pep Guardiola will certainly make amends and include him in the starting eleven.
Barcelona are on a four-match winning streak in all competitions, but last weekend they barely squeezed past Granada at home with a 1-0 victory. If they beat City once again they will secure their place in the first knockout round of the Champions League with two group matches to spare. Gerard Pique and Andres Iniesta are injured, Jeremy Mathieu is suspended, but Jordi Alba could make his return after having picked up a knock in the previous Champions League match.
Man City: Caballero - Zabaleta, Stones, Otamendi, Kolarov - Fernandinho - Sterling, Gundogan, Silva, De Bruyne - Aguero
Barcelona: Ter Stegen - Roberto, Umtiti, Mascherano, Digne - Rakitic, Busquets, Rafinha - Messi, Suarez, Neymar
My prediction: Barcelona to win 3-2.
Here are the odds for the match at Bet365:
Man City win - 2.88
Draw - 3.60
Barcelona win - 2.50
