NHL Expands Partnership with Sportradar
It has just been announced that the partnership between the U.S. National Hockey League (NHL) and Sportradar, has been expanded to include its Fraud Detection System (FDS). The NHL is a highly renowned professional sports league stationed across both the US, and Canada. It is made up of a total of 31 member clubs, consisting of members from more than 20 countries. Its games are televised in more than 160 countries throughout the world. Sportradar is a multinational corporation which provides real-time scores, statistics, and play-by-play details for a number of sports, leagues, and events. The FDS platform will be integrated into the NHL's game integrity protection systems, in order to track global gaming activity and trends. Hundreds of operators across the globe will be monitored during both regular and post-seasons for the NHL. NHL Commissioner, Gary Bettman, commented, “While we have the utmost confidence in the integrity of our sports and our games, Sportradar's Fraud Detection System provides an additional layer of security and protection.” Additionally, Sportradar's managing director of integrity services, Andreas Krannich, added “Our award-winning FDS monitors over 100,000 matches across 12 sports around the world each year and we are delighted the NHL has chosen this system that oversees all relevant operators and markets, to bolster its integrity defenses.” This moves follows on the heels of an agreement between both Sportradar, and the NHL, in which it lent its services to the sports league to act as its third-party provider, supplying exclusive real-time game data.
