Premier League: Juan Mata to stay at Manchester United
Juan Mata will most likely remain at Manchester United at least until the January transfer window. Last weekend Jose Mourinho decided to substitute him after just 27 minutes in the Community Shield victory over Leicester City, and that seemed to be the final act in the Spaniard's spell at Old Trafford. However, now it seems that Mourinho has decided to keep the talented playmaker. It's important to say that it was Mourinho who sold Mata to Manchester United while he was managing Chelsea, the move was worth 37.1 million pounds. Fellow midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger is on the way out though, with several German clubs and not only interested in him. He was left out of Mourinho's 26-man squad and that was before the arrival of Paul Pogba, which will surely occupy a first-choice midfielder spot. Adnan Januzaj doesn't seem to be part of Mourinho's plans either, but the 21-year-old will most likely be sent out on loan as Mourinho still believes in his potential. Last season he played just seven times for United and spent four months on loan at Borussia Dortmund. Mourinho seems set to employ a 4-2-3-1 system at Manchester United, with Wayne Rooney being the first-choice option for the central attacking midfielder position behind striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Juan Mata could also cover that role when needed, but new signing Henrikh Mkhitaryan is also well suited for that position. Paul Pogba could play behind the attacking midfielder position, as a holding central midfielder, but given his talent and ability he could pretty much cover any role in midfield. Manchester United are 10/3 at Bet365 to win the Premier League title this season.
