Back Premier League: Several players to leave Manchester United, Pogba closer to return

Jose Mourinho is preparing for a major squad clean-up as several players seem out of favour. The most prominent of them is German midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger, who was not present at the team's training session on Thursday. The 31-year-old midfielder has announced his retirement from international duty with Germany after having made just 13 Premier League appearances last season. Paris Saint-Germain have been linked with the German defender and Manchester United will probably be ready to sell him this summer.

Adnan Januzaj, Paddy McNair, Andreas Pereira, Axel Tuanzebe and Will Keane were also absent from the first-team's training session on Thursday, a fact that could indicate that Jose Mourinho considers them surplus to requirements. Timothy Fosu-Mensah and Cameron Borthwick-Jackson did not take part either, but they are currently injured. Meanwhile, Juventus have accepted Manchester United's bid for Paul Pogba, according to The Guardian. The bid is worth 110 million euro plus add-ons.

If the fee is confirmed Pogba will become the most expensive transfer in the history of football, surpassing Gareth Bale's move to Real Madrid which was worth 100 million euro. Paul Pogba has won four Serie A titles in four seasons with Juventus after having joined them from the Red Devils in 2012. Manchester United have signed three players this summer: defender Eric Bailly from Villarreal, striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic on a free transfer and the attacking midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan from Borussia Dortmund.

Manchester United are 10/3 at Bet365 to win the Premier League next season.
