Back Football: Brazil appoint Tite as new head coach

The Brazilian Football Confederation decided to appoint Corinthians head coach Tite as the man to replace Carlos Dunga at the helm of the national team. Dunga was sacked after the team's terrible performance at the Copa America, where Brazil finished third in Group B behind Ecuador and Peru. Dunga enjoyed two spells as head coach of Brazil, first from 2006 to 2010 and then from 2014 until 2016. He only managed to win one trophy with the national team, the Copa America in 2007.

Tite, aged 55, is one of the most respected coaches in Brazil. He has won two league titles, twice the Copa Libertadores and also the Club World Cup, all with Corinthians. He has coached no less than 13 clubs until now, including big Brazilian clubs like Gremio, Palmeiras and Atletico Mineiro, but also had an experience in the United Arab Emirates at Al Ain and Al Wahda.

Tite will only take charge of the Brazilian team after this summer's Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. Current Brazil Under-20s head coach Micale will take charge of the Brazilian team at the Olympics, a team that should include Barcelona superstar Neymar.

Brazil are 15/8 at Bet365 to win the Olympic Games football tournament this summer.
