Back Premier League: Manchester United set to sign Eric Bailly

Villarreal central defender Eric Bailly will become Jose Mourinho's first signing at Manchester United. The two clubs have agreed the move for a transfer fee around 30 million pounds, while the 22-year-old defender is also believed to have agreed terms with his new club. Eric Bailly is an Ivorian international with 15 caps for his country. He started his career at Espanyol, making his debut for the first team during the 2014-2015 campaign. Then he moved to Villarreal where he made 35 league appearances last season.

He moved from Espanyol to Villarreal for 4.4 million pounds in January 2015 and then played in every match for Ivory Coast at the Africa Cup of Nations, which he won along with his team-mates. Manchester City, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain have also been interested in his signature but Manchester United seem to have prevailed. Bailly is exactly the type of central defender that Jose Mourinho likes: tall, strong but also fairly quick and with good ability to play the ball forward.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic could become the second signing of the summer for Manchester United, but the Swedish star has postponed the announcement once again. The 34-year-old striker is a free agent after having left Paris Saint-Germain. He announced a press conference on Tuesday, everybody expected him to confirm the move to Man United, but he launched his new sportswear range instead. About the transfer, he said: "There is no confirmation. Keep wondering. I am enjoying the stories."

Manchester United are 4/1 at Bet365 to win the Premier League title next season.
