Premier League: Leicester in bid for CSKA Moscow's Ahmed Musa

Premier League champions Leicester City have made an offer worth around 23 million pounds for CKSA Moscow striker Ahmed Musa, according to the Russian club's head coach Leonid Slutskiy. The Foxes had tried to sign the Nigerian international during the January transfer window, but the two clubs were unable to reach an agreement. Musa has made 44 appearances and scored 18 goals this season for CSKA Moscow. The club clinched the Russian Premier league title.

Leicester will be looking to strengthen their squad for next season, considering that they will also have to play in the Champions League. Slutskiy also revealed the Nigerian striker would want to move to the English Premier League to work with Claudio Ranieri. "The British club offered a bit less than €30m (£22.86m)," he said. "Musa came to me a few days ago and asked when Ranieri is back for the holidays and I told him I do not know, I do not know Ranieri."

In January Leicester were unable to meet CSKA's demands for Musa, believed to have been around 18 million pounds. The 23-year-old striker is currently with his national team ahead of Nigeria's friendly matches with Mali and Luxembourg. The CSKA manager has admitted that the transfer is very likely to happen, given the offer and the desire of the player. "I do not know for sure," he said. "It is the work of our management but I think the probability is high."

Leicester City are 25/1 at Bet365 to win the Premier League title again next season.

Right move by Leicester City. As Claudio Ranieri stated few weeks back he wont be looking into signing some big names, because that might disrupt amazing harmony and passion that this team has. And scouting team from King Power stadium found maybe an ideal match in Ahmed Musa. He is kinda unknown player, who has club, international and European experience and would benefit for this team a lot, since they will play Champions League for the first time in their history this fall.

Ahmed Musa would be great for Leicester and he would fit great in Premier League and wouldnt disrupt harmony in Leicester team. He has a great pace and also ability to score goals, and also he is only 23 years old with a lot of international experiance .But i think CSKA wont leave him for small price.

Leicester need one more good striker, and Ahmed Musa is good choice, in next season they need more players, I hope that they will not sell Mahrez and Vardy, with these three players and Okazaki in backup, they would be ready for big things. I think that they can not win Premier League again, but they can qualify for knockout phase in Champions League and they can attack first 6-7 places in Premier League... Goo Leicester :)

I am quite surprised with kind of players that Claudio Ranieri is interested in.Ahmed Muse is speed demon,he is very fast and he has good abilites as a striker.I think it would be too much for him to go to Premier League now,but also think that he would have some time to gets used to the style of the play in England. He could be good signing for the future.

Looking like Leicester City would be willing to spent some cash to strengthen their squad although they are known for not spending huge.Even that transfer amount is nothing really on the background of some of the leading teams deals in the country which spent billions in the last years. We could only wonder what could Ranieri achieve with a better squad from the last years one.
