Premier League: Danny Welbeck out for nine months

Arsenal striker Danny Welbeck will be out of action for nine months after having to undergo surgery on his right knee. The 25-year-old England striker suffered the injury during last Sunday's 2-2 draw against Manchester City. He was one of the strikers considered by Roy Hodgson for inclusion in the England squad, but will miss out on Euro 2016.

A club statement revealed that there was "significant cartilage damage" in Welbeck's knee, but added that this injury is not identical to the one that kept him out for seven months earlier this season. The player posted a message for his fans on social media, saying: "I will be back stronger!" Gunners manager Arsene Wenger was worried about his striker at the end of Sunday's game at Etihad Stadium.

Welbeck had returned to the pitch in February after being out of action since May 2015, that time due to an injury to his left knee. He has scored 5 times in 16 games for Arsenal this season, quite an achievement considering the long time he had spent on the sidelines. He also bagged six goals in five matches for England during the qualification campaign for Euro 2016. Arsenal and England have already lost Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to injury as the young midfielder suffered his second knee injury this season.

Arsenal are 11/2 at Bet 365 to win next season's Premier League title.

Bad news for the English national team! He is a very important player in the national team. He was supposed to be one of the key players in the European Championship in France. Coach is now in trouble, he needs to find a good replacement for him. Really bad luck for him, he could win the title in the championship with the team.

Arsenal curse is real. It seems that every single player that joins team from north London has to have some serious injury at some point. I was just thinking about Welbeck few days ago that he has to be Englands bench striker for upcoming Euro this summer, but that won't be the case as we can see. Arsene Wenger seriously needs to look for another striker since Welbeck is obliviously injured and Gurioud form is inconsistent.

To bad for welbeck and England squad. Its one of the most heriffic injuries in modern sport. Rehabilitation is really long and once players gets back on the field its newer the same player as before the injury, and there is a great chance to ge reinjured after few weeks.

Ahahaha Arsenal should open hospital for sure, just to threat their own players. This is stupid, at least two players get huge injuries every season, and i understand how they cant win anything because they are never full squad ready. This has to do something with the way they threat the players for sure, i mean come on maybe medical team is not doing great job, or trainings arent good for players fit stage.

Such a pitty for him and for all the fans of the Gunners.Danny Wellbeck is best striker in the squad. He was also sure for the England squad for Euro 2016 but this will be big test for him.He needs to overcome this injury and become even stronger when he gets back on the pitch. He is good player and he still has a lot to offer to the Premier League.
