Mighty Barcelona have been struggling lately and another setback might see them lose the Primera Liga title that seemed all but wrapped up a few weeks ago. Luis Enrique and his men will face Valencial on Sunday at the Nou Camp, not the easiest opponent to play under the circumstances. The visitors have nothing to lose, their season has already gone irreparably wrong, but they do want to give their fans something to cheer about. The reverse league fixture ended 1-1, while in the Copa del Ray Barcelona hammered Valencia 8-1 on aggregate.
Barcelona are in the worst form they could possibly imagine, and they went from ecstasy to agony in just a month. On March 16 they were celebrating after knocking out Arsenal in the Champions League while in the Primera Liga they were holding a reassuring advantage over Real Madrid and Atletico. But then everything went wrong: they got knocked out by Atletico in the Champions League quarter-finals and lost their last two league matches, 2-1 to Real Madrid at home and 1-0 at Real Sociedad. With 6 games left in the season their advantage over Atletico has shrunk to just 3 points, while Real Madrid are just 4 points behind. Arda Turan is suspended for the match, while Sandro Ramirez and Jeremy Mathieu are injured.
Valencia are currently 14th in the league table, it's a season they will want to forget as soon as possible. Gary Neville didn't enjoy success here, he got canned at the end of March and assistant Pako Ayestaran took charge until the end of the season. Last weekend they finally recorded a win, 2-1 at home against Sevilla, a result that should have injected some confidence into the squad. Relegation shouldn't be a concern, but they still need to pick up some more points to make sure. Joao Cancelo, Jose Gaya and Denis Cheryshev are injured and won't be able to play in this match.
Barcelona: Bravo - Roberto, Pique, Mascherano, Alba - Rafinha, Busquets, Iniesta - Neymar, Suarez, Messi
Valencia: Alves - Barragan, Mustafi, Abdennour, Siqueira - Gomes, Fuego, Parejo - Feghouli, Alcacer, Vezo
My prediction: Barcelona to win 3-1.
Here are the odds for the match at Bet365:
Barcelona win - 1.14
Draw - 9.00
Valencia win - 17.00

Barcelona is in poor shape. Three league games without a win, one in el classico. Then they were knocked out from Atletico Madrid in the Champions League. They lost their matches against direct rivals, and that's whats worrying. Messi just cant find the perfect rhytm. Just because of that I think that today they will raise their form and that the poor Valencia will feel their anger. In case I'm wrong we'll have a dramatic finish until the end. :)
Well, we all know who is favourite here. Barcelona, eventho being hurt by lately results is huge favourite here which puts Valencia in underdogs position. Leonel Messi haven't score for a while now, media is exploiting that so I think we will see Messi show tonight, to shut up all that mouths. Valencia is having terrible season, Gary Neville didn't manage to do anything significant and new manager would like to make good result versus Barca but its highly unlikely.
The team of Barcelona have to keep your eyes open and complete focus in this match, with the victory of R. Madrid saturday and the likely victory of Atl Madrid on Sunday, if Barcelona does not win the Valencia, The Barca can see direct competitors approach. The opponent's Barcelona Sunday is not looking for much in the championship is a good chance for the team of Luis Enrique to recover from the elimination of the UFC and maintain in first place in the Spanish Championship.
What a suprse result at the end 2-1 for Valencia, who would it thought 2 weeks ago that Barcelona would have that kind of poor form. Three lost in a row, i cant remember that kind of poor form happend before for Barcelona :/
This loss was big disappointent for all the fans of BarcelonaIt is not normal to see Catalans loosing matches like this. They finally managed to make a win in their manner against Valladolid last night. With 8 goals in the net, their confidence must be high again. It is very important for their race for the title.
This was the game that made the Barcelona crisis even harder after their failure in the CL earlier. I must say it was kind of expected for them to have a tough period in the end of season, they didn't have many of these this season and it was almost unreal. Now Primera will have very exiting finish because of that result and thee teams could win the league which is great for the drama.
