Manchester City have suffered another blow as captain Vincent Kompany could be out for a month again. The skipper suffered a muscle injury during Tuesday's Champions League match against Dynamo Kiev. Kompany had recurring calf issues this season and he left the pitch on Tuesday after just seven minutes. He returned to action last month after having suffered a tear to his calf on Boxing Day.
"Vincent, unfortunately, has a muscle injury in his calf like he had before," manager Manuel Pellegrini said. "We'll know more tomorrow or maybe the day after tomorrow how important it is, but always a muscle injury is minimum of one month." Nicolas Otamendi also had to leave the pitch due to a knock, but the manager said the injury doesn't look too serious.
Vincent Kompany could miss City's matches against West Brom and Bournemouth, along with the Manchester derby against United at Old Trafford this weekend. This is the 12th time Kompany entered the injured list since joining Manchester City in 2011. "It's very difficult to find a particular thing about a muscle injury. There's a lot of things you can do to try to have less injuries but no one will be sure you are not going to have any more," Pellegrini added.
Manchester City are currently 16/1 at Bet365 to win the Premier League title this season.

Probably the best centre back in the world but really has no luck with injuries. You could see the diffrence in Mancheter City results when he is playing or when he isnt. He is a tru leader, he pushes the whole team foward. Beside him best centre backs in my opinion are Hummels, Pepe, Pique, Godin...

He had few bad injuries over the years but this season he was out for almost all the time which was one of the reasons for City to be so poor. In the same tame that couldn't be an excuse for them because they have one of the wider and expensive squads in the world so they should fine a way to replace him.

Big blow by City's chances in Champions League and Premiership. In his prime he was certainly one of few best central defenders in the world. Strong in the air, reads game well, good tackler. Instead of gaining match fitness, he injured after only seven minutes played against Dynamo Kiev in completely irrelevant game. Bad...

Hope his carreer won't be ruined by this constant injuries that he had lately. One of the best central defenders in game for sure. Manchester City doesn't come even close when he is out. A captain, that not only makes defense look much safer but also leader on a field. Also, Euro2016 is coming up, and if he doesn't fully...

A captain, that not only makes defense look much safer but also leader on a field. Also, Euro2016 is coming up, and if he doesn't fully recover Belgium chances would be much lower. Since I'll be cheering for them to make it into the finals.

He really has no luck with injuries . Too many injuries and he is only 29 years old. Now they can only hope that, that pause won't take longer than a month, followed by a brief period of recovery. This can be a solid impact to the M.City's defence in the fight for the title.
