Back Serie A: Juventus vs Sassuolo preview

Reigning champions and Serie A leaders Juventus will try to consolidate their place at the top of the table when they face Sassuolo in Turin on Friday. Sassuolo have beaten the Bianconeri 1-0 in the reverse fixture in October, after that match Juventus went unbeaten in the league until now. Last season Juventus struggled to overcome Sassuolo in Turin, a late goal from Pogba settled a 1-0 win.

Juventus got knocked out from the Italian Cup by Inter last week, but then secured a 2-0 win at Atalanta to keep their three-point gap over Napoli at the top of the Serie A table. Massimiliano Allegri and his men also have the Champions League tie against Bayern Munich to worry about, the big match takes place on Wednesday and Juventus have a glimmer of hope after the 2-2 first leg result. Martin Caceres is still injured, but the rest of the players are all fit and ready to play.

Sassuolo are currently 7th in the Serie A table, fighting for a place in next season's Europa League. They are unbeaten in their last five league matches and won the last three, including triumphs over Lazio and AC Milan. They have lost just six matches out of 28 so far this season, but four of those defeats have been away from home. Gregoire Defrel is suspended, while Paolo Cannavaro, Simone Missiroli and Karim Laribi are injured.

Probable line-ups:

Juventus: Buffon - Lichtsteiner, Barzagli, Bonucci, Sandro - Cuadrado, Marchisio, Sturaro, Pogba - Dybala, Mandzukic

Sassuolo: Consigli - Vrsaljko, Antei, Acerbi, Peluso - Biondini, Magnanelli, Duncan - Sansone, Falcinelli, Berardi

My prediction: Juventus to win 1-0.

Here are the odds for the match at Bet365:

Juventus win - 1.33 Draw - 4.50 Sassuolo win - 12.00
