Serie A: Gianluigi Buffon sets retirement date
Legendary Italy and Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon is not keen on retiring yet, despite turning 38 on Thursday. He revealed that his intention is to take part in the 2018 World Cup in Russia and then hang up his boots. He has already conquered a World Cup with Italy, back in 2006, while on the domestic front he has helped Juventus to six Serie A titles. He said: "If I can push myself up to the 2018 World Cup then I'll go on. After that I'll close the door and stop playing football." Buffon is the world's most expensive goalkeeper as Juventus paid 32.5 million pounds to Parma for him in 2001. Since then he has made 443 league appearances for Juventus and broke the record for the most clean sheets in Serie A. Buffon has played a record 154 times for Italy and will most likely be their captain at this summer's European Championships in France. Italy are in Group E with the Republic of Ireland, Belgium and Sweden and they are 13/8 at Bet365 to win that group. Juventus are 10/11 at Bet365 to win the Serie A title once again this season.
