Capital One Cup: Manchester City vs Everton preview
Manchester City host Everton at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday in the second leg of their Capital One Cup semi-final clash, with the visitors keen on protecting a narrow one-goal lead. However, Manchester City enjoy the advantage of a goal scored away from home, which means a 1-0 win would send the Citizens through to the final. The two sides have met in the Premier League two weeks ago, at the same venue, and the game ended goalless. Everton have not won a trophy in 21 years, their last success was in the FA Cup back in 1995. Manchester City have been unconvincing lately, their last six competitive matches produced three wins, two draws and one defeat, which was the first leg at Everton. Last weekend Sergio Aguero bagged two goals for the Citizens but they were only able to grab a 2-2 draw at West Ham, a result which saw them losing ground on Premier League leaders Leicester City. Vincent Kompany, Samir Nasri, Eliaquim Mangala, Aleksandar Kolarov and Wilfried Bony will be unavailable through injury. Willy Caballero should get the spot between the sticks while Raheem Sterling will probably be given a chance to get back into the spotlight. Everton have not been doing well lately either, they have won just two of their last six matches and both of them were cup games. However, their league fixtures have been quite tough and they could be satisfied with draws against Tottenham, Man City and Chelsea. The big disappointment was last weekend, when the Toffees were surprisingly defeated by struggling Swansea. Kevin Mirallas and Muhamed Besic have picked up knocks during that match and they are in doubt for Wednesday's match. James McCarthy, Steven Pienaar, Tony Hibbert and Tyias Browning will definitely miss out. Probable line-ups: Man City: Caballero - Zabaleta, Otamendi, Demichelis, Clichy - Fernandinho, Toure - De Bruyne, Silva, Sterling - Aguero Everton: Howard - Coleman, Stones, Jagielka, Baines - Cleverley, Barry - Deulofeu, Barkley, Lennon - Lukaku My prediction: Man City to win 3-1. Here are the odds for the match at Bet365: Man City win - 1.53 Draw - 4.50 Everton win - 5.50
