Manchester United are still in the race for the Premier League title, according to boss Louis van Gaal. The Dutch manager was quite optimistic following his side's 1-0 derby win at Liverpool on Sunday, a result which moved the Red Devils back into fifth place, seven points behind joint-leaders Arsenal and Leicester City.
"We have a lot of matches still to go," said Van Gaal. "We have to continue, which is not so easy. But we can do it because we show every week we can do it." Both Arsenal and Leicester City were held to draws last weekend, but third-placed Man City and fourth-placed Tottenham recorded convincing victories. "Today is very important because our competitors have lost points," van Gaal added. "The gap is seven points. We can overcome that so that's what I'm thinking about. "
Wayne Rooney scored the winning goal at Anfield, securing the third win out of the last four competitive games for Man United. "We have started the year very good with a lot of wins and I think this game will give a big boost to the players and the fans, and everyone in the environment of Manchester United," the manager said. "I hope we can continue winning - that's why we are here."
Manchester United are 20/1 at Bet365 to win the Premier League title this season.

There there. A win totally against the run of play and they start dreaming again. Do their fans really think they have a chance after seeing the way they play in the last 5-8 games. Woeful against Norwich, played off the park at Stoke, played well against Chelsea and probably should have won, created nothing for 45mins...

Woeful against Norwich, played off the park at Stoke, played well against Chelsea and probably should have won, created nothing for 45mins against Swansea, lucky to beat Sheffield Utd, open game at Newcastle where both sides could have won and now a game where they would have lost by a few goals were it not for the heroics of De Gea. If this team can challenge for the title then I don't know who can't.

When we see the tables there's a 7 point difference between MU and the leaders and 6 to the Man City, so on theory it's possible but it's looking impossible the way they playing really. This could be for moral boosting to the MU players by Van Gaal's side or he's just trying to play some mental games with United opponents...

This could be for moral boosting to the MU players by Van Gaal's side or he's just trying to play some mental games with United opponents but in any case I don't think that even Van Gaal himself believe in that.
