Premier League: Jamie Vardy to undergo surgery
Leicester city Jamie Vardy will be out of contention for up to 10 days as he needs to undergo minor surgery to sort out a groin problem. The 28-year-old foward has not scored since December 14, when the Foxes beat defending champions Chelsea 2-1. He has played through various health issues this season, including a broken wrist. His surgery will take place on Tuesday and it is supposed to repair his groin. The club apparently timed the operation pretty well as Vardy will miss next weekend's FA Cup match against Tottenham but should be fit for the next Premier League game, wich is also against Tottenham on January 13. The striker is the club's top goal scorer this season, with 15 goals to his name. Leicester manager Claudio Ranieri said before last weekend's goalless draw with Bournemouth: "Jamie had a little problem for one or two months and of course he didn't train every day. The last days he's had a fever and he's not 100 per cent." Leicester are currently second in the Premier League table, two points behind leaders Arsenal. Leicester City are currently 25/1 at Bet365 to win the Premier League title this season.
