Arsenal are currently negotiating with Swiss side FC Basel the signing of central midfielder Mohamed Elneny. The midfielder is an Egypt international aged 23, he has joined FC Basel in 2013 and won three titles with the club. The fee is reportedly around 5 million pounds. The player will require a work permit before being able to play in England, but he will be eligible to play in the Champions League as Basel have not qualified for the group stage this season.
With Santi Cazorla and Francis Coquelin out with serious knee injuries, Arsene Wenger has to look for new players to strengthen his midfield. Jack Wilshere is also out, while Aaron Ramsey and Mikel Arteta have always been fairly prone to injuries.
About Wilshere, Wenger said that his midfielder will not return to action before February after having surgery in September on his left leg. "I said February but honestly I don't know," Wenger said. "I let him do his recovery. It's going slowly. Once he goes again, goes outside to train, once he is back again into sharp, hard work physically, you count five or six weeks, so at the moment he is not there yet. It's not Jack's fault we lost at Southampton and anyway he cannot play against Bournemouth. We have short-term worries and we want to respond."
Arsenal are currently 6/4 at Bet365 to win the Premier League title this season.

I think the attack is where they need to add player or two and maybe some in defence. For sure the manager have to spend really big during this transfer window for a new players which will give them more debt and competition inside the squad. It's another theme how many quality players will be available on the market during the winter transfer window which I think will be the main problem for Wenger.

@h34dhunt3r You know how medias are in this part of Europe, any rumour is sold as a fact :) (I know because I live in Romania). Bottom line: they were still negotiating on Monday, deal was not done yet. Now it seems he will undergo the medical check today.

Anyway, eventho I don't think that hes top class player / Arsenal calibre, at least Gunners are finally doing something in winter's transfer window, completing first transfer among Premier league teams (again, according to medias). I'm kinda dissapointed in Arsene Wenger, since after recent purchases of Ozil, Sanchez and Cech I though he will continue bringing world class assets into the club. Good luck to Arsenal tho, I'm cheering for them to take it this season since my Chelsea is awful and Leicester City won't be able to keep up in upcoming period.
